Many of you have tried, liked, and now look forward to a jar of our Sweetwater Garlic Dill Pickles and Dilly Beans. I'm not sure if you're more excited to see me show up with product samples or jars of pickles, ha!

It all started with my grandmother's recipe, handed down over generations in East Tennessee. As a child, I would spend summers with my family at the farm in Sweetwater and at our mountain cabin in Coker Creek, tucked away in the Cherokee National Forest.

As my brother and I would build forts and explore the woods, grandmom and mom would often be canning, or putting up, vegetables, jams, soups, and pickles in glass mason jars to provide us with fresh homemade meals during the winter months.

Mom has shared her favorite family recipes with us to carry on the tradition of southern cuisine. She taught me how to make pickles one summer, which I have brought back to Colorado. What started as seasonal hobby has since evolved into a labor of love that supplies family and friends until the jars run out.

I discovered a farmers market in Rocky Ford, CO, that sells freshly harvested pickling cucumbers, while playing in the SECOM Charity Golf Classic in La Junta each July. Loaded with a couple bushels, the journey begins.

Some say I should take my pickles to market, but for now, they honor my family heritage and are made to share. Please comment and let me know if you like them and need a jar.
